From Europe to Asia, Austria to Philippines. Yes, this is the two bands differentiate from their holy land but both main vein in spreading their anger is in grindcore. Both bands play brutally in their own style of grindcore that really blow your brain. RC from Austria gives 8 blasting, brutal grindcore. With a brutish growl voice shifted with a shriek vocals that keep the band make heavy and brutal. Additional with their grindy and heavy riffs of guitar and distorted bass, combined with pounding, fast blasting heavy drums beat with some catchy mid tempo beat. Totally awesome in the part of RC. While on HM side, 6 tracks of groovy deathgrind attack from this 4 piece band from Philippines. This new deathgrind band from the southern part of our shit corrupt country, Philippines give their curse with a groovy heavy thrashy deathgrind with a thrashy riffs of guitar and a deep guttural brutal growling voice of Ryangee (vocalist) that reminds me some vocals of grindgore/death band. Drums beat quite not too fast compared as their first record where I've heard from their tracks on my comp cdr, but still play heavy and tight and strong. Very thrashy that really groove you till you banging your head from start to end. Lyrics included but only 4 tracks available that tackles more into some political and social stuff or like that. Trust me: These 7 devastating slits of their own on top of "Wolverine blues" from ENTOMBED will make you shit your pants within a blink of an eye, full stop! Bereits 2003 beeindruckte mich die österreichische Grindcoreherde ROTTEN COLD durch ihren Beitrag zur Split-Cd mit MONOLITH. "Weiter so!" schrieb ich damals im Review dieser Scheibe mit dem Wunsch, dass sie doch bitte konsequent den beschrittenen Weg weitergehen. Und genau das tun sie auf ihrem aktuellen Output, der Split mit den phillipinischen Death-Grindern HUMAN MASTICATION. ROTTEN COLD gehen straighter und brutaler denn je zu Werke und zeigen damit so manch "etablierter" (aber gnadenlos überbewerteter) Grindband was ´ne Harke ist! Zu hören ist total geiles Gebretter, wieder ausgestattet mit der dafür nötigen Abwechslung. Wenn in der Bandinfo von "more grind/crust approach" und "most brutal recording so far" die Rede ist, so kann ich dem ohne mit der Wimper zu zucken 100%ig zustimmen. Die sieben eigenen Songs gehen jedenfalls ab wie Sau. Auch das ENTOMBED-Cover "Wolverine Blues" soll ihnen erstmal jemand nachmachen! Und wenn man sich ihre Texte so durchliest, dann merkt man auch, dass die Jungs was in der Birne haben! Ihr alter Sänger, der die Tracks hier noch eingebrüllt hat, musste übrigens die Band im August 2004 aufgrund einiger Probleme leider verlassen. Aber keine Angst, mit Polsi von DECOMPOSED CRANIUM (ebenfalls eine ancheckungswürdige Band aus Österreich) wurde ein würdiger Ersatzschreihals gefunden. Daumen hoch für ROTTEN COLD! Weiter geht´s mit HUMAN MASTICATION, die ich bis dato noch nicht kannte. Wie gesagt, sie kommen von den Phillipinen und spielen Death/Grind, wie ich ihn mag. Brutaler, kraftvoller Growlgesang (kein Harmonizergekotze!), schöne Blastbeats und noch schönere Slam-/Moshparts-jawoll! Textlich trifft bei ihnen genau das zu, was ich bereits bei ROTTEN COLD erwähnte. Gut so! Leider leider hat ihr Sound bestenfalls Proberaumniveau, was mehr als bedauerlich ist! Also Zähne zusammenbeißen, die Anlage voll aufdrehen und durch. Ansonsten gibt´s bei ihnen nichts auszusetzen. Und wo ich schon mal beim Thema "nichts auszusetzen" bin, will ich mal noch die Aufmachung dieser Split lobend erwähnen, welche die Sache zu einer wirklich runden macht.
